'Encourage one another daily'

Do you have a favorite word? Mine is encourage. I love that word. It embodies hope, confidence, motivation, and love. According to one definition it is a contribrution to the progress of growth. "Let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another-and all the more as you see the Day approaching." Hebrews 10:24-25. Heb 3:13 even goes as far as to say, 'encourage one another daily.' Wow, how we would progess in our growth as Christians if we had that daily encouragement.

Some synonyms I came across were... to infuse courage. Perhaps many of us would overcome certain fears if someone would simply infuse courage into our lives.

To nourish hope is another way to encourage one another. When I think of nourish I can't help to relate it to food. We all need our physical nourishment, but more importantly we need our spritual nourishment. One way I am nourished is when I listen to certain bible teachers. It nourishes hope within me when I hear the word of God being spoken over my life.

Sometimes a pat on the back can encourage and motivate us when we are weary and wanting to quit.

And lastly, to cheer for each other is another way we encourage. It sends a relief that we are not on this journey alone. Let's face it, when we have a little help from the "stands" through our cheers for one another we tend to dig in harder, press on farther, and run all out to the finish line. I suppose since I have a background in running and racing I relate much of this life to a race. I'll always remember hearing my mom's encouraging voice from the stands cheering me on towards the finish line. Oh, how that not only set me at ease, but it invigorated my soul to run with all my might. I believe that is what Jesus would have us do for each other in this life.

The final Day is approaching and may we be diligent in our encouragement for one another. Keep on keepin' on, fix your eyes on the Lord Jesus and do not give up. Remember, He has great and mighty plans for you and your life.
